Kids Up Front by Go
On Monday, Go shared his home country's culture with his classmates. He introduced Japan’s four seasons and events that are celebrated during each of the season’s, including Japan’s Children’s Day. He also taught us about a custom in Japan where people display Samurai warrior dolls and Samurai Kabuto helmets in homes, in May, to inspire strength and bravery. We learned to make our own origami ‘Kabuto’ using large square sheets of coloured paper. The children enjoyed getting to make their own ‘Kabuto’ and decorating it with many patterned pieces of origami paper. Thank you so much Go and Masami for taking the time to share with us some of Japan’s amazing festivals and traditions!
Next week (Thursday), 6 student ambassadors from PTh will be going to Cambodia to spend time with the students at KUMA school in Phnom Penh. We wish them a wonderful journey! 1PTh have been super enthusiastic while designing board games for the children in KUMA school. They thought of what they wanted the students at KUMA school to learn from the games, taking into consideration the various age groups and their knowledge of English language. We invited our Grade 3 buddies on Friday to play these games with us. Our children really enjoyed this session and you could tell by the excitement around the room!
Some reminders:
Swimming starts from Tuesday, 24th May. Please send your child wearing swimming costumes underneath their PE uniforms. They must also have a separate bag with towel, goggles, change of underwear, and a pair of flip flops. Our Tuesday session will be held in the big swimming pool. The session on Friday will be held in the infant swimming pool.
