On Wednesday, we visited the elderly folk at Happy Lodge and it was so heartening to see that our children feel a sense of responsibility towards them. The students are more confident and motivated with every trip we make and feel a sense of increased connection each time. Thank you to all our parent volunteers who accompanied us that day; we really appreciate your efforts and commitment.
To celebrate the end of the unit on Service, our class will be going to Happy Lodge on Tuesday, March 19th . The children will meet the residents and present them with gifts/dances that they have been working on. 1PTh is the only class that will be making this trip and you will be receiving a permission slip for this in the coming week.
In Mathematics, we have been enjoying creating repeating and growing patterns in a huge variety of creative and imaginative ways. We have been thinking about how to isolate the unit in a repeating pattern and make, describe and extend repeating and growing patterns. The children explained their patterns and we recorded this on iPads.
Dora celebrated her 7th birthday in class with yummy home made cupcakes. Dora, we hope you had a great celebration at home too over the holidays!
See you all in Term 3!
